Shah, Nimish N et al. “Rationale and design of a pragmatic trial aimed at improving treatment of hyperlipidemia in outpatients with very high risk atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: A pragmatic trial of messaging to providers about treatment of hyperlipidemia (PROMPT-LIPID)." American heart journal vol. 253 (2022): 76-85. doi:10.1016/j.ahj.2022.07.002. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35841944/
PROMPT-LIPID Resource:
The PROMPT-Lipid Resource reviews the study design of the PROMPT-Lipid trial and its primary and secondary outcomes. It provides key insights on how real-time, targeted alerts have the potential to enhance quality of care for patients with cardiovascular disease. The trial, which included 2,500 patients and 96 providers, found that prescribers who viewed the Best Practice Alert (BPA) were 42% more likely to intensify LLT than usual care.
